Hello FCRV Teens!

I am excited to announce the forming of a committee to work on bringing YOUR program into the 21st century. It is no secret that we will start by developing a teen representative program that YOU want to participate in. But, we will also be taking a look at the ENTIRE program and creating something YOU want to be a part of and promote to others.

I am looking for 2 representatives from each region and while anyone can apply, I want YOU to be the voice for YOUR program. Therefore, teens who have a valid membership or fall under their parents’ membership will be given priority to serve on this committee. Volunteer hours will be awarded and virtual meetings will be set up in advance.

But remember anyone with a valid membership can apply, and I want to get this started as soon as possible, so it would be best not to wait.

Conservation

Every year our members collect aluminum tabs for The Ronald McDonald House, which provides money to support this great cause and our royalty are happy to help deliver them. This serves two causes, money to keep The Ronald McDonald House programs running and the recycling of those aluminum tabs. FCRV believes in conservation and knows how important protecting our planet’s resources is and we know that teens today are interested in doing what they can to help. In 2022 we are adding an Annual National Teen Conservation project, where we give back to the community hosting our annual Campvention and get back to our organizations conservation roots.

Family Fun Day Lunch Sales

Each year at Campvention the teens sell lunch during Family Fun Day. The money earned pays for their off grounds trip and any money remaining is usually donated to an organization picked by the teens at the end of the week.

Teen Outing

The money earned at Family fun day is used to go off grounds for a fun event. There have been many outings over the years and each one is based on what is available in the city hosting Campvention. Some outings have been: Laser Tag, Arcade, Water Park, Kings Dominion Amusement Park, and Bowling.

Teen Royalty

The Teen Royalty pageant is held each year to pick Teen representatives of FCRV. A Teen Queen (Miss FCRV) and Teen King (FCRV Teen King) are crowned each year. The current program consists of teens, ages 13-19, competing in the following categories: Interview, Public Speaking, Talent or skills, Poise & Confidence, and Critical Thinking.

Teen Sports & Games

Many of our teens enjoy playing sports and when we get together are certain to include volleyball and softball in our list of activities to do. Those who don’t play enjoy cheering their favorite team or playfully heckling the adults during the Teen/Adult Softball game.

Teen Center & Other Activities 

Our teens know how to stay active and there are plenty of activities to choose from when we get together, but they also just want time to socialize and enjoy spending time together. Our teen center is open every evening during Campvention for fun events and just hanging around and many of our teens venture out to get involved with other FCRV program groups as well.
