Beverly and Bill Jordan of Sidney, Iowa, received this year’s President’s of Public Service Award. Having been members since 1972, Bev and Bill have given many years of service to Family Campers & RVers.
As representatives of FCRV, they have done clean up projects at Stuhr Museum in Grand Island Nebraska for seven years, in addition to working on several conservation projects at Mahoney State Park in Nebraska since 1997. Bill and Bev help their local camping chapter raise funds for various Good Samaritan Projects and they work with other members so that the chapter can continue its effort to sponsor children for Special Olympics, help children with disabilities, donate to food pantries, donate items for our military overseas, and so much more.
For the past four years the Jordans have volunteered at the Ponca State Park Annual Expo.
While in Texas each year they mentor/host programs at area schools in Texas helping children to learn to read and learn the English language. They also gather and deliver food baskets to families during the holidays through the school system. Additionally, for the past three years, Bill and Bev have participated as bell ringers for the Salvation Army.
Besides all the volunteer work they do as a couple, Bev has also made quilts for hospitals and orphanages in Mexico, helped with vacation Bible School and Kids Club at their church, volunteered at the Day Care, and is currently volunteering in starting a non-profit thrift store in Sidney, Iowa.
Bill and Bev Jordan are workers for our organization, their community, and for helping with children in various phases. They are always willing to help with any project our local chapter is doing, the state may be sponsoring, or, for that matter, the whole of Family Campers & RVers.
